In A Dream Benefit Exhibition

Overview

Art has always been at the heart of resistance, healing, and remembrance. To celebrate a landmark decade of the New York City AIDS Memorial, I co-organized and produced In A Dream You Saw A Way To Survive and You Were Filled With Joy, a milestone benefit exhibition hosted at David Kordansky Gallery's 520 West 20th Street location, curated by Memorial Board Chair Keith Fox and advisor/curator Stephen Truax that gathered nearly forty artists exploring memory, loss, resilience, and the cultural legacy of the HIV/AIDS epidemic.

Working in partnership with gallery leadership, artists, and estates, we assembled a major presentation of original and exclusive limited-edition works by world-renowned contemporary artists. Beyond honoring the more than 100,000 New Yorkers lost to AIDS and the heroism of activists, the four-day event and public opening reception served as a vital fundraiser. Artwork sales directly secured future funding for the Memorial’s educational outreach, physical preservation, and ongoing commissioning of new public artworks and performances.
